Our History
Kari Culumber founded Culumber Services in 2020 after spending 20 years as a project manager and business analyst. Kari saw a need in the Maple Valley community for professional, high-quality consulting services to help start-ups and growth-driven businesses thrive. She recognized that she could put her skillset to work to support growing businesses.
Since 2020, our Culumber Services team has consistently delivered valuable results for a wide range of clients. We have helped numerous restaurants, salons, e-commerce businesses, professional services, retail businesses, and other local businesses meet their highest goals and achieve long-term success in the entrepreneurial world.
Meet the Culumber Services Team
Kari Culumber
Owner
Kari Culumber is the owner of Culumber Services. Kari spent 20 years as a project manager and business analyst and started four businesses before leaving the corporate world to launch Culumber Services.
Initially, Kari created Culumber Services as a bookkeeping business because she missed using her analytical brain and the skills she acquired throughout her career. However, she found that she loves working with business owners and contributing to their success. As a result, she expanded Culumber Services to include project management and consulting services as well.
Kari enjoys spending time with her four kids and completing projects on her small hobby farm.
Brit Porter
Account Manager & Operations
Brit Porter handles the operations and client services at Culumber Services. She has an extensive background in small business with a focus on the service industry. As the daughter of restauranteurs, Brit grew up helping to run and service multiple family-owned restaurants.
More recently, Brit worked in the corporate business environment for over 10 years. She brings experience in a variety of business aspects, including sales, HR, operations, corporate training, and e-learning design, to the Culumber Services team. She is passionate about helping business owners find ways to run their businesses efficiently and provide great service to their customers and staff!
Brit has been married for 17 years. She has two kids, a rambunctious corgi, and a fierce love of reading and British cooking shows.
Kate McSharry
Account Manager
Kate has a decade of experience in recruiting and human resources, including several years at Vulcan, a Seattle-based company managing billionaire Paul Allen’s assets and interests. She has also spent many years in small business, working with everything from bids and scheduling, to email marketing, recruiting, and payroll.
“A place for everything, and everything in its place” is Kate’s motto. She loves to organize and sees bookkeeping as organizing with numbers. Kate is a problem solver and a people person. She loves to meet and work with new people.
When Kate isn’t working, she loves to travel (She’s been to 5 of 7 continents!) and enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping with her husband and two kids.
